McTyeire residence

The McTyeire residence is a large French chateau-style home constructed in 1969 by William and Katherine McTyeire overlooking Shades Valley from a crest at 4218 Old Leeds Road. The five bedroom, 7.5 bath home was designed by Henry Sprott Long & Associates and is clad in stucco and limestone with wrought-iron railings on the exterior. The interior features marble floors and elaborate mouldings and woodwork.

After Mrs McTyere's death in 2013 the house was listed for sale for $1,985,000.

The 2016 McTyeire residence hosted the 2016 Decorators' ShowHouse fund raiser for the Alabama Symphony Orchestra.
