Mountain Brook City Council
From Bhamwiki
The Mountain Brook City Council is the legislative body for the city of Mountain Brook, which was incorporated in 1942. The five-member council is elected to four-year terms and serves without compensation. The council is responsible for the adoption and revision of city ordinances, the appointment of city board and commission members, and the approval of the budget submitted by the Mayor. The policies and budget adopted by the Mayor and Council are implemented by a full-time City Manager. The council meets on the second and fourth Tuesday evenings of each month at Mountain Brook City Hall.
Beginning in 2004, Mountain Brook began alternating election years. The mayor and places 2 and 4 on the council stood for election that year, with places 1, 3 and 5 standing for election in 2006.
