New Hope Mountain

New Hope Mountain is a long ridge in the Cahaba Valley south of Birmingham. It runs parallel south of Valleydale Road from Buck Creek just west of Helena in the southwest to Purdy Dam at its northeast end. It is separated from Shades Mountain to the north by the Cahaba River, and from Little Oak Mountain to the south by Cahaba Valley Creek.

Notable locations on New Hope Mountain include Pelham High School, the Hindu Temple and Cultural Center, Terrace 31 apartments, the Meadow Ridge subdivision, the Women's Missionary Union, and Looney Gap.
