Nina Ireland

Nina Ireland (born September 4, 1943 in Birmingham; died October 7, 2010 in San Francisco, California) was an artist and philanthropist.

Nina was the daughter of Charles W. and Jeannette Gates Ireland. She attended the Brook Hill School in Birmingham; Chatham Hall in Chatham, Virginia; and Rollins College in Orlando, Florida.

Ireland moved to San Francisco, California where she practiced as an artist and became a major supporter of the University of California at San Francisco, including funding the Nina Ireland Laboratory of Developmental Neurobiology, the Nina Ireland Distinguished Professorship in Child Psychiatry, and the Nina Ireland Distinguished Professorship in Pulmonary Medicine. She was also a major contributor to Pets Unlimited.
