Norm Reilly

Norman Albert Reilly Jr (born December 25, 1959; died February 12, 2016 in Birmingham) was an associate athletics director for the UAB Blazers.

Reilly graduated from the University of Georgia in 1980 and began his career in the sports information office of the Bulldogs athletic department while attending graduate school in public relations. In addition to his duties there, he worked on behalf of the host television broadcaster at six Olympic games. After 15 years he left Georgia to accept the position of assistant athletics director for media relations for the East Carolina University Pirates. In 2002 he served as director of communications and public relations at the National Senior Games Association.

Reilly came to UAB that year as an assistant athletics director for media relations. He was promoted to associate athletics director in 2005. He was named the "Scoop Hudgins Outstanding Sports Information Director" by the All-America Football Foundation in 2006 and presented with the College Sports Information Directors of America "25-Year Award" in 2007.

Reilly and his wife, Leslie, had two sons: Norman III ("Trey") and Graham. Reilly died of cancer in February 2016. He is buried in New Orleans, Louisiana.
