October Baby is a feature film released nationwide in 2012. It was produced and directed by the Andy and Jon Erwin for Gravitas LLC and filmed at several locations in the Birmingham District.

The film, written by Jon Erwin and Theresa Preston, stars Rachel Hendrix as Hannah, a girl who learns that she was put up for adoption after a failed abortion attempt and sets off to find her birth mother. Other cast members include Jason Burkey, Jasmine Guy and John Schneider.

October Baby was distributed by American Family, Provident Films to limited screens in October 2011. It was then picked up by Samuel Goldwyn Pictures and given a nationwide release on 390 screens in March 2012. During its opening weekend, the film earned $1.7 million, reaching 8th place in receipts according to Box Office Mojo.

Ten percent of the film's profits are being donated to the Pelham-based "Every Life is Beautiful Fund" which supports agencies providing adoptions and caring for orphans. Birmingham area locations used for filming included Morris Avenue, the Alabama Theatre, and the Bibb Medical Center. Other scenes were filmed in Mobile and on Dauphin Island.

The film won a grand jury prize for "Best Fiction Feature" at the 2011 Red Rock Film Festival in Red Rock, Utah.
