Oni Williams

Onoyemi O. Erinkitola-Williams (born c. 1976 in Chicago, Illinois) is an analyst for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama, a former child abuse investigator and probation officer, and a candidate for Birmingham City Council District 6 in the 2019 Birmingham special election, challenging incumbent appointee Crystal Smitherman.

Williams earned an associate's degree in manufacturing technology from Pensacola State College in Pensacola, Florida and worked as a chemical operator for Solutia Inc. while completing her bachelor's degree in workforce development and training at Southern Illinois University. In 2005 she graduated from the Pat Thomas Law Enforcement Academy in Gadsden, Florida and joined the Florida Department of Children and Families as an investigator. In 2006 she transferred to the Florida Department of Corrections as a probation officer. In 2010 she completed a master of science in clinical, counseling and applied psychology at Troy University. In 2012 she took a job as a member and guest relations representative for the NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers. She came to Birmingham in 2013 to work for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama.

Williams has been active in many community programs in Birmingham, including the Dynamite Hill-Smithfield Community Land Trust, the Friends of Smithfield Library, the Smithfield Community Action Team, the UAB One Great Community Board, Peacemakers, and Faith in Action.
