Onur Genç

Onur Genç (born 1974 in Trabzon, Turkey) was the CEO of BBVA Compass bank from January 2017 to Januayr 2019.

Genç earned his bachelor of science in electrical engineering at Boğaziçi University in 1995 and a master's in business administration from Carnegie-Mellon University's Tepper School of Business in 1997.

Genç has worked as a financial analyst for American Airlines and a on office manager for the McKinsey & Co. consulting firm's Istanbul, Turkey office. He joined the Istanbul-based Garanti Bankası in 2012 and became deputy CEO for retail banking, private banking, asset management since 2016. He was named late that same year to succeed Manolo Sánchez as CEO of BBVA Compass, effective in January 2017.

Genç was promoted to CEO of BBVA Group in January 2019 and was succeeded by Javier Soler.
