Oteil and the Peacemakers is a Birmingham-based jazz/funk/R&B/jam band.

The band is a showcase for the Allman Brothers Band bassist Oteil Burbridge, who moved to Birmingham in 1997. In 1999, Burbridge got divorced and moved to New York City. He returned to Birmingham, and formed the Peacemakers in 2000, which features musicians Matt Slocum, Mark Kimbrell, and Chris Fryar. They released their first album, Love of a Lifetime, that same year. That was followed up in 2003 by the CD/DVD set entitled The Family Secret. In 2005 the band took an entirely more spiritual direction for their third album entitled Believer. Some of their albums were recorded at Bates Brothers Recording Studio.

In 2008, Oteil and the Peacemakers won a Birmingham Area Music Award for best R&B/soul. They played City Stages in 2003 and 2006, as well as the 2007 Preserve Jazz Festival.
