Paine Elementary School is an elementary school for grades K-5 located at 7500 Gadsden Highway in Trussville. The school was originally separate primary (K-2) and intermediate (3-5) schools, which opened next to each other in 2003 as part of the Jefferson County Schools system, to ease overcrowding at Hewitt Elementary School.

The primary and intermediate schools were named for Amerex Corporation founder Ned Paine and his wife, Goldie, who donated 38 acres of land across from the company's headquarters for their construction. Both schools were designed by McCauley Associates with red brick and white trim. They were built by Gary C. Wyatt General Contractor. Goldie Payne donated numerous framed art works to decorate the schools.

When they first opened in August 2003, turning lanes off of Gadsden Highway had not been completed, causing major traffic jams. By December traffic patterns had been accommodated.

In 2005 the two schools were transferred to the newly independent Trussville City Schools district.

In 2016 the intermediate and primary schools and buildings were merged. The central connector, designed by Lathan Associates, included a new main entrance marked with a large semi-circular arch, and housed a new principal's office, a larger library, and a tornado shelter. The resulting complex is the city's largest elementary school, with two cafeterias, two gymnasiums, and as many as 1,300 students.
