Richard Simmons

Richard E. Simmons III (born c. 1954) is an author, former insurance executive, and founder of The Center for Executive Leadership.

Simmons earned a bachelor's degree in economics at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee in 1976 and studied risk management and insurance at Georgia State University in Atlanta. He spent 25 years in the Birmingham offices of Hilb, Rogal & Hamilton Co. (now Hilb, Rogal & Hobbs Co.), starting in sales, and concluding with a 10-year term as CEO.

In December 2000 Simmons founded the non-profit "The Center for Executive Leadership". He has published several books through his own Union Hill Publishing imprint.
