SPOC Automation, formerly SymCom Inc., is a manufacturer in the oil and gas technology industry located at 7363 Gadsden Highway in Trussville.

Symcom was founded in 2000 by Robert Mason to manufacture and distribute pump controls used in the oil and gas industry. It adopted its present name to reflect the "Sensorless Pump Off Control" software which it developed.

In November 2013 SPOC opened its third production facility and by August 2014 had 65 employees, 41 of which were added since 2011, with plans to add 10 to 15 new employees within the next year.

SPOC was named to the "Forbes 5000" list of fastest-growing private companies of 2014. In 2015 the company acquired KJ Controls Canada of Spruce Grove, Alberta. In 2020 the company employed 67 people.

In June 2023 SPOC purchased a warehouse at 7574 Commerce Circle from Chase Bays, and then more than doubled the size of its manufacturing plant and expanded its workforce to around 180.

In September 2023 SPOC entered into a strategic partnership with Mayer Electric Supply to jointly improve their supply chain, inventory management, and sustainability practices, primarily by sharing a service storage facility.
