Sam the Hot Dog Man is a "dirty blues" song recorded by Lil Johnson on April 22, 1936. The song expresses longing for a particular hot dog vendor "down in Alabam'". According to the lyrics, the, "taste of Sam's hot dog," will, "satisfy your soul," and women are "wild" for the way he serves it.
