Samuel Wiggins

Samuel Edward Wiggins Jr (born c. 1944) is a retired educator and administrator.

Wiggins has a bachelor's degree in education from Alabama A&M University and a master's in administration and supervision from Antioch University. As an educator he has taught at Howard University and Lawson State Community College. After retiring he was appointed assistant executive director of the Birmingham Parking Authority and later vice-president of parking and ground transportation for the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport. He retired from the airport in 2009.

Wiggins unsuccessfully ran for the Birmingham City Council District 6 seat held by Carole Smitherman in the 2009 Birmingham City Council election. As a City Council candidate his primary issues were improving educational opportunities and addressing dilapidated properties.

Wiggins' son Samuel Wiggins, III is president of the Wiggins Law Firm.
