Sherry Traywick

Sherry Gail Traywick (née Sherry Gail Dover c. 1939; died November 28, 2019) was a business owner and member of the Homewood City Council from 1992 to 2000.

Traywick was the daughter of Howard and Florence Dover. She graduated from Hewitt-Trussville High School in 1957 and also married her husband, Donald Traywick, around that time. The family moved to Homewood in 1974.

Traywick a business owner, member of the Rotary Club of Shades Valley in which she held various leadership positions, and long-time member of Dawson Memorial Baptist Church. She also supported her children and grandchildren as members of the Homewood High School Patriot Band.

Traywick was elected to the Homewood City Council in 1992 and continued to serve until 2000. Her husband died in 2011 and Traywick followed in 2019.

Traywick was preceded by her parents and husband. She was survived by her son, Donald Traywick Jr, her daughter, Dee Willis, three grandchildren, a sister-in-law, and multiple nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her funeral service was held at Dawson Memorial Baptist Church with burial at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville.
