  • I surmised the location because the only suggestion in the 1887 DeBeers atlas was a corner lot owned by a "Lucy Smith" who may or may not have been the same Lucy Smith noted as being on this school's faculty that same year. There is also a discrepancy with the claim made that Lane Elementary School was the first grammar school for black students in the city. --Dystopos (talk) 11:48, 20 March 2019 (PDT)
