Crystal Palace

• Allen Barra mentions in his book on Rickwood that the NY Press Association came in 1875, met in a Southside saloon named the "Crystal Palace", and generated enough investor confidence in the North to ensure the success of the Magic City's iron industry. His book is only lightly footnoted, but may be referencing Yesterday's Birmingham, in which I'll attempt to follow up. --Dystopos 08:13, 25 July 2010 (PDT)
