name

Several sources give his stage name as "Country Boy Eddy", however there is a photograph of the tv set in Tim Hollis' Birmingham Broadcasting which shows "Country Boy Eddie" written out in rope letters as part of the set. There is also a WBRC print ad with the same spelling. I'll take those as authoritative references. --Dystopos 21:20, 21 July 2007 (PDT)

  • I would watch his show because we didn't have cable and it was usually the only thing on very early in the AM (plus my dad had control of the TV), and I remember the titles spelling it "Eddie" but hey that was 20-25 years ago. --Wheresdib 04:43, 22 July 2007 (PDT)
    • At Top Hat BBQ in Blount Springs, they have CBE memorabilia on the walls (see [1], circa December 2007). The face of a clock visible in the background says "Country Boy Eddy". --Wheresdib 20:32, 29 December 2010 (PST)
      • Ed Reynolds used the "Eddy" spelling in the article from his recent interview. It seems to me Burns probably didn't much care either way. I'll continue considering the set design as the authoritative spelling unless there's something better out there. --Dystopos 20:43, 29 December 2010 (PST)
