Shooting

Right now that last paragraph comes off a little "non-encyclopedic" and I'm sure it could use some editing. I think it is important, but only for the most recent context. The main thing is to start expanding on the earlier history to place it in a wider context. Opinions are welcome. --Dystopos 17:15, 25 July 2008 (PDT)

  • Looks fine to me. I think it sums up the current situation nicely. --Wheresdib 05:36, 26 July 2008 (PDT)

Red?

I believe the price tag for the red paint, which is being criticized as a road hazard especially in wet conditions, and especially to motorcyclists, was $230,000. I'll see if I can dig up a source for that. --Wheresdib 00:41, 23 November 2008 (PST)

  • It's a mystery to me. A guy involved with the Merchant's Association told me that the city had a bid for some portion of the work they did (not only painting, but also pavng, landscaping, sanding and repainting lamp-posts, painting and replacing traffic lights) and it was around $400,000, but they were able to accomplish the same thing faster using city workers for $80,000. If that's one of the themes of the "Let's Do Something" administration, then at least there's something to be admired. (Now if only that power could be used for good...) --Dystopos 07:43, 23 November 2008 (PST)
