  • Not sure there's room in this article for these details, but those who have been identified as having expressed disagreement with Davis' planned honor to the BCRI's board include:
    • Charles Krulak emailed the BCRI board on January 1, expressing "sadness" at the choice of Davis. He specifically cited her former ties to the Communist Party USA and the fact that she had purchased weapons used in the 1970 murder of a judge on California. (She was acquitted in that case.) Krulak did not specifically mention Davis' support for BDS, but does serve on the board of the non-profit US-Israel Education Association, which works to counter what it calls "Palestinian propaganda" regarding Israel's West Bank settlements. - Roy S. Johnson (January 9, 2019) "In caving to pressure to cancel Davis, BCRI insulted Shuttlesworth, stained its own legacy." The Birmingham News
    • The executive committee of the board of directors for the Birmingham Holocaust Education Center expressed "concern and disappointment" over Davis' support of the BDS movement in a January 2 letter to the BCRI board. They went on to say that, "We do not suggest that Israel should be immune from criticism, but BDS ignores gross human rights transgressions by other countries around the world and focuses solely on Israel, the world's only Jewish state." - Roy S. Johnson (January 11, 2019) "Birmingham Holocaust Center asked BCRI to ‘reconsider’ Davis honor, yet ‘happy’ to meet activist." The Birmingham News
