Incorporation

The MJHS website gives "1900 to 1912" as the original date of incorporation. Foscue, citing Hagood-1960 and Harris-1982, pegs it at 1885. Since Foscue's the recognized authority, I'm using her date - but I suspect there's more to the story. --Dystopos 21:34, 23 January 2007 (PST)

Railroad

Foscue says the town might have been named for the railroad, though it had a post office by that name 42 years before the railroad came through town. I suppose there's more to the story here, too. --Dystopos 21:34, 23 January 2007 (PST)
