  • I'm curious why you renamed this page to "Health-Welfare Building"? Every reference I've ever seen to it always refers to it as the "Jefferson County Public Health Building". JD Weeks worked in that building for many years and on his website, he has postcard picture of it that indicates "Public Health Building". A 1980 UAB campus map also shows it as "Public Health Building". Robert Matthews (talk) 12:12, 21 June 2021 (PDT)
    • The 1945 article I came across called it the "Health-Welfare Building", and it seemed like a slight to the Birmingham Department of Public Welfare to leave it out of the name. But perhaps I was hasty, and perhaps that department was short-lived and non-impactful, given that I don't really know anything about it. --Dystopos (talk) 13:05, 21 June 2021 (PDT)
      • With some reflection, I think using the name closest to what's on the cornerstone is probably more sensible than what I came up with over the weekend. --Dystopos (talk) 13:07, 21 June 2021 (PDT)
