Rhythm and poetry

Just a minor thing, but I've heard the definition of "rap" as "rhythm and poetry" dismissed as a false etymology. And I see no mention of it on Wikipedia's page on rap. --Lkseitz 10:49, 10 August 2010 (PDT)
