Name

I'm 99% certain my mother has a copy of this movie on VHS tape as either Verne Miller or The Verne Miller Story and not Gangland. I'll have to check next time I'm there. I also have in my "archives" a napkin from the premiere and on it the movie title is simply given as Verne Miller, leading me to believe the film was renamed The Verne Miller Story sometime after the Birmingham premiere. --Lkseitz (talk) 21:38, 13 August 2015 (PDT)

  • I can now confirm the film was first released on video as simply Verne Miller. --Lkseitz (talk) 17:50, 3 March 2016 (PST)

Pedestrian underpass

When I was a student at Shades Cahaba, we had an art project one year -- I think it was circa 1981 -- to paint flowers in the pedestrian underpass to help brighten it up and make it less scary. It was our big art project that year. First we did sketches of our flowers on paper. Then we each were given a certain amount of space in the tunnel to paint our flowers. I forget how many trips we made to paint them, but I'm pretty sure it didn't all fit into one art class. Obviously those had to go to film the scene from Verne Miller. If I'd known they were going to do that, I might have gone and taken photos of some of our flowers. As far as I know, they've never done another student project to make the tunnel more cheery again. --Lkseitz (talk) 23:31, 14 October 2017 (PDT)

Premiere date

I was at the Verne Miller world premiere at the Alabama Theatre and saved a napkin. It says "July 30, 1988" on it. I don't know where the June 21 date that IMDB has comes from, but it would not surprise me that the Alabama's "World Premiere" was actually after some premiere in Hollywood. In any case, this means that the showing at the Montreal World Film Festival actually preceded the Alabama premiere. I'm updating the article to reflect this. --Lkseitz (talk) 23:51, 14 October 2017 (PDT)
