Taproot Cafe was a restaurant opened by Reggie and Michelle Torbor in April 2021 at the Shoppes at Hwy 150 Crossings. Michelle's brother, Eric Myers, managed the business.

The cafe specialized in simple sandwiches, salads and smoothies which featured locally-sourced produce from Hamm Farms, Smitherman Farms, and Ireland Farms, bread from Birmingham Breadworks, and salsa and hummus from Venitos, and honey from the the Eastaboga Bee Co.

On July 31, 2022 the restaurant shut down due to staffing shortages and inflation. The owners hoped the closure would be temporary.
