Tasos Touloupis is a former engineer and the owner of Ted's Restaurant.
Touloupis immigrated to the United States from Thessaloniki, Greece in 1978 and earned his bachelor of science in aerospace engineering at the University of Alabama in 1983. He was hired by EBSCO, but soon moved into the restaurant industry.
Touloupis has worked at the Riverchase Country Club, the Wynfrey Hotel and the Hoover Country Club. He and his wife, Beba purchased Ted's Restaurant from the Sarris family in 2000. He has added a catering department and experimented with a 'Ted's To-Go" location at UAB Hospital.
Touloupis is a board member and treasurer for the Birmingham Originals restaurant association.
