Thomas Precise

Reverend Thomas Leon Precise (born c. 1941; died October 29, 2014) was a minister at Canterbury United Methodist Church in Mountain Brook for his entire career.

Precise was the son of Elbert Samuel Precise and Lillie Mae Davis Precise. He grew up in Scottsboro, Jackson County, with two brothers and three sisters. He graduated from Scottsboro High School, then attended Snead Junior College before graduating from Birmingham-Southern College. He went on to receive his Master's Degree in Christian Education from Candler School of Theology at Emory University.

In 1968, Precise married the former Betsy Sue Musfeldt and the couple moved to Birmingham. In 1969, he took a ministerial job at Canterbury United Methodist Church. Over the years, he served as Youth Director, Director of Christian Education, Director of Stephen's Ministries, Director of Hearts and Hands, and Ministerial Supervisor to Older Adults.

Precise was survived by his wife, Betsy; his sons, John and Scott; a brother, Bud; two sisters; and several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
