UAB ROTC training facility

The UAB ROTC training facility is a 12,800 square-foot building at 828 8th Court South, between I-65 and BBVA Compass Field on the UAB Campus. It is used by UAB's "Blazer Battalion" Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) programs. It opened in April 2019. UAB’s Army ROTC program was established in September 1980 with 12 student cadets.

The one-story building was designed by Charles Williams & Associates and constructed by Argo Building Company for $3 million. It includes three classrooms, nine offices, an auditorium, a storm shelter, a library/lounge, locker rooms, a gymnasium and a combat simulation room.

The facility’s formal grand opening was held on September 25, 2019.
