The UAB Small Business Development Center was a resource center for entrepreneurs operated by the UAB School of Business with funding from UAB and the State of Alabama as part of the Alabama Small Business Development Consortium. It was located at 1055 11th Street South.

Since its founding in 1983 the center assisted hundreds of entrepreneurs with loan applications, business plans, government contracts and access to venture capital. It has hosted seven national small business conferences. The last director was David Ramp, who took the position in 1994.

The center, which had five employees on staff, was closed in 2008 after the State cut its appropriations to UAB by 11%. The Service Corps of Retired Executives, which had used space donated by the center, moved its counseling facility to the Center for Regional Planning and Design.
