schools & categories
Should I send e-mail, comment here, or comment elsewhere? I looked at the Bhamwiki:Community Portal page and saw the need for school pages. I did a search on schools, which led me to the List of school systems. I followed the one active link to Jefferson County and performed a minor fix. Then I tried to get back without using the back button. Jefferson County leads to Category:Schools, which leads to Category:Education. However neither includes the List of school systems. Should this list be in the Schools category, too? (Sorry, I'm essentially new to actually editing Wikis.) --Lkseitz 12:30, 28 April 2006 (PDT)
- Categories are tricky, especially when there's not a whole lot of content to need categorization. I'll see if I can make some sense of it. Thanks for the heads up. --Dystopos 16:34, 28 April 2006 (PDT)
- OK, I made List of School Systems and Homewood School System both feed into Category:School systems, which is then a subcategory of Category:Schools. --Dystopos 16:39, 28 April 2006 (PDT)
Stubs
(To User talk:Dystopos) I've created a stub template and category. I added a few of the articles I've stubbed out just to get a feel for how it works. Do we want to follow the Wikipedia model of having a whole bunch of stub categories (and templates)? --Lkseitz 18:32, 30 May 2006 (PDT)
- Nice addition. I think we could start off with major categories and work down as necessary. It makes sense, I think, to have biography stubs as a separate category. Probably schools too. Whatever we have a lot of I guess. Welcome back. --Dystopos 19:04, 30 May 2006 (PDT)

Style
This is a minor request, and a matter of preference, but I prefer not to use periods at the end of abbreviations unless the abbreviated letters are missing from the end of the word. I made a note of it at Bhamwiki:Style a while ago when I noticed I was doing it. Feel absolutely free to use your own judgment, but in my opinion it won't be necessary to patrol every article for consistency with either preference. --Dystopos 13:55, 2 August 2006 (PDT)
