"War Eagle" is the current official fight song for the Auburn Tigers athletic teams. It was composed in 195455 by Robert Allen and Al Stillman of New York. to replace of the "Auburn Victory March" which had been used previously.

Because school was not yet in session and the marching band had not convened, the new song was debuted by the Jordan Vocational High School Band of Columbus, Georgia under the direction of Bob Barr at Auburn's 1955 season-opener versus Chattanooga. Auburn's band, under the baton of Burton Leidner, adopted the song for the remainder of the season.

The song is played by the band before and after each game, and immediately after each score. The carillon in Samford Hall also plays the song each day at noon.

Allen's estate retains the copyright to the song.

Lyrics

War Eagle, fly down the field
Ever to conquer, never to yield.
War Eagle, fearless and true
Fight on, you orange and blue (Go! Go! Go!)
On to vic'try, strike up the band,
Give 'em hell, give 'em hell.
Stand up and yell (Hey!)
War Eagle, win for Auburn,

Power of Dixie Land!
