William Marsh Acker Jr was (born October 25, 1927; died June 21, 2018 in Birmingham) was a District Judge for the Northern District of Alabama.

Acker attended Marion Military Institute and Woodlawn High School. He served in the U. S. Army prior to graduating summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Birmingham Southern College. He received his law degree from Yale in 1952.

Judge Acker practiced law in Birmingham from 1952-1982. In 1982 he was appointed by President Ronald Reagan as U.S. District Judge for the Northern District of Alabama, faithfully serving for almost 35 years until age 88.

He was a member at Highlands United Methodist Church. He was married to Martha Walters Acker and they had a son, William, and a daughter, Stacey.
