Woodward's Big Four

Woodward's Big Four was an early Gospel quartet made up of employees of the Woodward Iron Company which performed frequently in the district north of Fairfield and Bessemer.

The group was organized by bass vocalist Clarence Parnell and included Jim Steele on lead vocals, Rosco Young on tenor, and Aulston Molton on baritone.

The group broke up when Parnell left to join Silas Steele to form the Famous Blue Jay Singers in 1926.
