The Rivals of Amziah King is a 2024 feature film directed by Andrew Patterson and starring Matthew McConaughey and Joey Shear, with Kurt Russell in a supporting role.
The independent film was produced by Black Bear Pictures. Although the setting for the story is rural Oklahoma, most of the film was shot between mid-June and early August 2023 in the Birmingham area, including scenes at J & J Grocery and Deli in Bessemer, The Frosty Mug in Jasper, the former Jean's on the River in Cordova, the Pell City Steakhouse, and Elvin Hill Elementary School in Columbiana.
