The 1904 Birmingham municipal election was held in November 1904 to elect a Mayor, Aldermen, and other city officials after the resignation of Mel Drennen. The election was contested in a city-wide Democratic party primary, with the general election a formality.

Ward won the most votes in the primary, and avoided a run-off when Simmons, a protege of Drennen's, withdrew from the race.

Ward was inaugurated on May 4, 1905 for a two-year term.
