1983-1984 UAB Blazers Men's Basketball team
The 1983-1984 UAB Blazers men's basketball team represented UAB as a member of the Sun Belt Conference during the 1983-84 NCAA Division I men's basketball season.
The Blazers were coached by Gene Bartow and played their home games at Birmingham Coliseum in the Birmingham-Jefferson Civic Center.
The Blazers finished the regular season with a 20-10 overall; 8-6 in Sun Belt Conference play.
UAB hosted the conference tournament in Birmingham for the third consecutive year defeating South Florida (64-47) in the championship game to win it's second consecutive tournament title.
The Blazers advanced to the NCAA tournament for the fourth consecutive season. UAB was seeded 9th to face the 8th seed Brigham Young in the first round being hosted by UAB at the Birmingham Coliseum. UAB fell to the Cougars 84-68 ending the season with a 23-11 record.
