2004 Sidewalk Moving Picture Festival

The 2004 Sidewalk Moving Picture Festival, held on September 22-25 in 7 venues, was the 6th in the annual series. For 2004 the festival expanded to four nights. Saturday-Sunday passes were sold for $25, with single-film tickets priced at $6.

Venues included the Alabama Theatre, the auditorium at the Alabama Power Building, the Carver Theater, Jemison Flats, the McWane Center's Rushton Theatre, the "Brick Room", and Restaurant G.

The opening night film, screened at the Alabama Theatre, was "Silver City", a comedic political thriller directed by John Sayles. "Hide and Creep", produced locally by Chance Shirley and Chuck Hartsell of Crewless Productions had its premier on Thursday night at Sloss Furnaces.

The jury included Eric Campos from Film Threat magazine, Gill Holland, Don Myrick, Peter Gilbert, Lucia Small, Gabe Wardell, Skizz Cyzyk, Steve Montal, Michael Grady, and Daniel Wallace.
