The 2014 Rickwood Classic was the 19th in the annual series of "throwback" games played by the Birmingham Barons in vintage-styled uniforms at Birmingham's historic Rickwood Field. The Mississippi Braves defeated the Barons 5-2 on the afternoon of Wednesday June 25 before 8,655 spectators.

Mississippi got on the board first with a two-run double by former Baron Seth Lohman and an RBI triple by Matt Kennedy in the fourth. Barons starter Nick McCully recovered and allowed no other runs in his five innings. Lohman drove in two more runs off reliever Evan Crawford with a sixth-inning home run to left-center. David Rohm's single capped off the M-Braves' scorecard. Birmingham started to rally in the bottom of the sixth with Rangel Ravelo's one-run double off the scoreboard. Ravelo reached the plate on a single by Luis Sierra, but the Barons failed to score again. Rookie cathcer Martin Medina led the team with two hits. Starter Greg Ross claimed the win for Mississippi after allowing 2 runs on 5 hits in 5.2 innings.

The home team Barons wore throwback uniforms modeled after those worn by the 1924 Birmingham Barons. The Braves also wore period uniforms. The featured guest for the game was Cy Young Award winner Dwight Gooden.

Mike Cameron, Joe Grzenda, Johnny Dobbs, and Gabby Bell were inducted into the Birmingham Barons Hall of Fame during the game.
