2015 Sidewalk Moving Picture Festival

The 2015 Sidewalk Moving Picture Festival, held on August 28-30, 2015 was the 17th in the annual series. The opening night film at the Alabama Theatre was "Raiders!", directed by Jeremy Coon. Other venues included the Carver Theater, the Red Mountain Theater Company's Cabaret Theater, the McWane Science Center's Rushton Theater, and the Alabama School of Fine Arts. The festival drew a record attendance of more than 30,000 people.

Juried winners included Krisha, winning the Jambor-Franklin Founder's Award for Best Narrative Feature, and T-Rex winning for best feature-length documentary.

Audience favorite awards went to For a Few Zombies More for best feature, and Revival: The Sam Bush Story for best documentary and best Alabama-made film. The experimental film "H." was awarded a "Special Jury Prize for Audacious Vision".

"The Loyalist" was named best narrative short, and "The House Is Innocent" won best documentary short. "Henry Gamble's Birthday Party" won the jury and audience choice awards for best narrative feature in the Birmingham Shout companion festival.
