The 2018-2019 Jefferson County budget was approved by the Jefferson County Commission in September 2018 for the fiscal year beginning on October 1.

The $670,307,356 budget is 2.2% larger than the $655.8 million 2018 adopted budget, accounting for increased revenues, principally from sales taxes. Most of the increase went into the county's general fund budget, which grew by more than $11 million to $185.4 million. Notably, the county's funding for Cooper Green Mercy Hospital was increased from $51 million to $56 million in 2019 and funding for road construction and maintenance went up by $5 million to $31.2 million.

Approximately 13% of the overall budget, about $85 million, is earmarked for paying down the County's outstanding sewer construction debts.
