2020 Birmingham Bowl
The 2020 Birmingham Bowl was the 14th Birmingham Bowl postseason college football game, and the first with TicketSmarter as title sponsor. The game was played on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at Legion Field and broadcast live on ESPN. Sponsored by the TicketSmarter ticket sales company, the game was officially known as the TicketSmarter Birmingham Bowl.
The 6-6 Boston College Eagles of the Atlantic Coast Conference met the 10-3 Cincinnati Bearcats of the American Athletic Conference.
Game
With 7:55 remaining in the first quarter, the game was delayed due to lightning. The delay lasted a total of 91 minutes before the game resumed at 3:55 p.m. CST.
Cincinnati defeated Boston College 38-6. The Bearcats' quarterback Desmond Ritter was named MVP. Attendance was 27,193.
