The 2022 Birmingham Barons was the 9th Barons team to play in downtown Birmingham's Regions Field. The season marked the Logan family's 15th season as team owners and the team's 35th year as a Chicago White Sox AA affiliate.
The Barons played as part of the North Division of Minor League Baseball's 8-team "Double-A South". Division rivals included the Chattanooga Lookouts, Rocket City Trash Pandas, and Tennessee Smokies.
Field manager Justin Jirschele began his 2nd season. He was joined by new hitting coach Charlie Romero, and returning athletic trainer Hyeon Kim, performance coach George Timke, and pitching coach Richard Dotson.
