A. G. Gaston Boys & Girls Club
The A. G. Gaston Boys & Girls Club (AGGBGC) is a youth club founded in 1966 by A. G. Gaston as an affiliate of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Its president and CEO, appointed in 2012, is Frank Adams Jr. In 2016 the organization served 1,800 youth from ages six to eighteen.
The A. G. Gaston Boys & Girls Club is based at the Howlett Clubhouse at the CrossPlex Village at Five Points West, and also conducts programs at the Center for a New Generation at Hayes K-8 School, and in the Southtown Court public housing community.
From the 1990s until 2020, the A. G. Gaston Boys & Girls Club operated from the "South Park Unit" in West End. It was renamed in honor of long-time supporter and board member Kirkwood Balton in 2014. That facility was replaced by the present Howlett Clubhouse in 2020.
