Andrew J. Kennedy

Andrew Joseph Kennedy (born January 12, 1936 in County Tipperary, Ireland; died March 16, 2017)

Kennedy was the son of Andrew and Christina Kennedy of Tipperary. He attended St Patrick's Seminary in Maynooth and was ordained as a priest in June 1963. He served in several parishes in Dublin, Limerick and Cashel and became a marriage and family counselor for the church in England and Ireland. He came to the Diocese of Birmingham in 1989 and served as an associate priest at St Paul's Cathedral for four years before taking the pulpit as rector of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Huffman in 1993.

Kennedy served Our Lady of Lourdes Parish for nearly 24 years before his death at the age of 81. He was survived by two siblings and several nieces and nephews.
