Baby

Baby (born 1944) was a female chimpanzee at the Birmingham Zoo.

Baby was purchased for $150 and donated to the zoo by Pizitz, along with a wardrobe which included a "Davy Crocket" outfit complete with western boots and a stock of diapers and lace-trimmed rubber pants.

Baby was raised as if she were a human infant by trainer Dee Warner and his wife in their trailer on zoo property. It was expected that she would soon learn a number of "tricks" and be available to appear for charity drives and other events in addition to her regular time on exhibit at the zoo.
