Bill Isbell is an officer in the Kimberly Police Department.

Biography

Isbell resigned from the Morris Police Department, along with another officer, in September 1999 citing low pay and unspecified changes in department policy.

Isbell then became a part-time officer in the Kimberly Police Department. He also worked security for Taylor's Tavern, the town's only bar. In 2002 he was promoted to full-time, but requested to be allowed to continue to work at the bar. The town council turned down this request.

Isbell was eventually promoted to sergeant and, when Chief Kim Emerson resigned in November 2006, Isbell was appointed interim police chief. When the town council offered him the job permanently in February 2007, Isbell not only declined, but resigned as a sergeant, although he did stay as a patrolman. The council then hired Michael Melvin, another Kimberly police officer, as the new permanent chief. In April 2009, Isbell was promoted back to sergeant and became a patrol supervisor.
