Birmingham 2013 is the City of Birmingham's official public recognition of the 50th anniversary of the 1963 Birmingham Campaign, a series of Civil Rights demonstrations which culminated in an agreement to phase out local segregation laws and led to passage of Civil Rights legislation at the federal level.
