The Birmingham Blitz is a semi-pro basketball team which plays at the Bill Harris Arena at Fair Park. The team, which competes in the American Basketball Association's Atlantic South Conference, began play with a 138-103 home victory against the Southwest Fellowship Warriors from Atlanta, Georgia on November 16, 2012.

The team is co-owned by Tay Walker and Ronald Steele, Jr. Paul Thomas is general manager and Paul Smith is head coach. Team colors are gold and gray. Team stars include Jonathan Inman, Tyrone Bailey, Quinton Davis, Demarcus Palmer & Serdana Wright.
