The Birmingham Bulls was a mid-level professional ice hockey team based in Birmingham that played in the East Coast Hockey League from 1992 to 2001. They took on the name of the past Birmingham Bulls from the 1970s and early 1980s. Their home ice was the Birmingham-Jefferson Civic Center.
The team's mascot was "Toro the Bull".
In 1992, Cincinnati Cyclones owner Doug Kirchhofer announced he was moving the franchise to Birmingham as the Bulls. (He continued to use the Cyclones name for a new International Hockey League (IHL) franchise he was granted.) The team reached the playoffs in five out of nine years, but never won a championship. In 2001, the team transferred to Atlantic City and was renamed the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies
