The Birmingham Ironmen is a semi-professional basketball team first organized in 2013 and currently independent of any league. The team's general manager is Larry Harris and Rodrick Hilson is head coach, assisted by Taveres Melton. A costumed mascot, "Birmingham Bear", has made numerous public appearances to promote the team.
The office staff includes marketing director Tina Howse and communications director Robb Lee.
The first roster of players, announced in July 2015, included Johnny Harris, Duriel Harris, Mardrecus Moreland, Cordell Pope, Oscar Shine, Ryan Standfield, Keenoah Stevenson and Steve Willis.
